Voluntary Labelling Program for Televisions - Rules for Participation (1.6 MB) (version includes all the changes to the label - loaded 21 October 2008)

This final report was prepared in July 2008 by Digital CEnergy Australia, for the Equipment Energy Efficiency Program (E3).
Australian and New Zealand energy efficiency regulatory agencies offer a voluntary energy efficiency labelling program in relation to televisions (and monitors designed to show television signals). This document sets out the rules for participation.
While suppliers are not required to participate in this Program, if a supplier decides to participate in the Program (by which it will attach a label to products which will display the relative energy efficiency of the particular product) it must then abide by these rules.
A draft revision to IEC62087 specifies standard video clips which are used to determine energy consumption of televisions. To obtain a copy of the IEC62087:2008 Video Content material in DVD 50Hz and 60Hz or Blue Ray formats for use in Australia contact Keith Jones at
