Summary

This page shows the relevant documents that were used to finalise the requirements of standby in the energy label for wet products.

The 'final' government proposal above was originally released in April 2005 and took into account submissions made by AEEMA and CESA in March 2005. This was discussed at the standards committee EL15/4 in May 2005 and NAEEEC subsequently accepted the committee recommendation to alter this 'final' proposal to be an average of off mode and end of cycle mode for inclusion into the energy label CEC for dishwashers and clothes washers. The details are documented in the final paper above. A final decision on clothes dryers is still pending.

The presentation was prepared by Lloyd Harrington of Energy Efficient Strategies for a NAEEEC workshop to discuss how standby power was to be incorporated into the Star Rating Energy Label. The meeting was held in Sydney, December 2004.

The aim of this presentation was to:

The workshop meeting notes from December summarise the discussions and the outcomes. Further discussions were held within Standards Committee EL15/4 in February 2005 and a proposals from industry were received in March 2005.

The original background paper was released on 1 October 2004 and presented proposals on how standby power was to be incorporated into the energy label for clothes washers, dishwashers and clothes dryers.
