This report was commissioned by NAEEEC, prepared by Neill Patterson and released in January 1998.
The objective of this discussion paper was to identify, from a consumer perspective, improvements to the pertinence and accuracy of information provided on appliance energy labels. A number of tasks were set to guide in addressing this objective; they were not, however, meant to limit the research.
This paper is one of a pair of papers, the other, by R A Brown & Associates, will primarily address technical aspects of the labelling scheme. This paper will only impinge on technical matters where they have an effect on consumers' perceptions of the information contained in the labels.
